The African Centre for Field Schools and Innovation (AFiSICO) is a nonprofit organization established in Uganda to support smallholder farmers across Africa. Evolving from a regional hub to a continent-wide initiative, AFiSICO leads in advancing the Field Schools (FS) model to enhance sustainable agriculture.
By promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, and experiential learning, AFiSICO bridges science, policy, and practice, empowering diverse communities through tailored field school models—ranging from agro-pastoral to climate and market-focused programs.

Institutionalizing and scaling up Field Schools (FS) across Africa, including Farmer Field Schools (FFS), Agro-Pastoral Field Schools (APFS), and other adaptation
Facilitating the co-creation and exchange of knowledge, technologies, and best practices in agriculture.
Engaging in policy dialogue at regional and continental levels, linking with the African Union Commission (AU) to promote proven FS and extension models.
Developing skills and competencies for FS practitioners, with a focus on youth and women empowerment.
Promoting sustainable agri-food systems and climate-smart practices to address the challenges of climate change.
